how to create a zen space that clears your mind and air

The environment we surround ourselves in can have quite the influence on our state of mind. This holds especially true for those of us who find ourselves merging our living and working spaces into one. If you’re looking to add a sense of balance and serenity to your space, these tricks may just give you the ‘zen’ ambiance we all seek.
Bring in the himalayan salt lamps

There are few things in life as soothing as meditating in a space that emits a soft, warm glow. Salt lamps deliver just that. Made with exclusively pure Himalayan Salt, these lamps offer an orange-pink glow, and array of benefits for your health and indoor air quality. The salt lamp may play a role in increasing your energy levels, alleviating symptoms of allergies, boosting your overall mood, and/or helping you sleep better.

Himalayan salt lamps release negative ions into a space, ridding the air of unwanted particles. Salt lamps also contain hygroscopic properties that not only attract airborne pollutants, but also neutralize the effects of blue light emission. These negative ions may also contribute to boosting your mood.

Chromotherapy research shows how various colors of light can have different effects on the body. Most studies point us in the direction of avoiding blue light (emitted from cell phones, tablets, computers, and TVs) after sunset because it can interfere with our circadian rhythm and thus, disrupt our sleep patterns. Salt lamps emit a contrasting warm glow, similar to the warm hues found in a campfire, making them a great light source for the evening. Some attribute these soft hues to finding a state of calm and improving the ability to focus.

How salt lamps may give your health a gentle boost
Whether used during winter months, rainy days or nighttime rituals, indoor Himalayan salt lamps are a comparable (and portable) supplement to fresh air. Prop one on your desk to bring a sense of zen to your workspace or place one next to your bed to send yourself into a deep slumber.
Create a space that exudes serenity with:
  • A chic diffuser and calming blend of essential oils (we love a blend of lavender, patchouli, bergamot, and copaiba)
  • An indoor water fountain
  • Aromatic candles (if you love how our studio smells, you need our new Longevity candle!)
  • Hue lights
  • Red light therapy lamp
  • Weighted blanket
  • Meditation pillow
  • White noise sound machine
  • Air purifier
  • Plants and greenery
